We know that finding the right team to work with can be challenging. So, in mid-2020, ApplyBoard launched ApplyBoost. This exclusive program helps international students compare local recruitment advisors, see which services each advisor offers, and then choose the best fit. As ApplyBoard’s Director of Inside Sales, Jamie Matechuk, puts it:

Introducing ApplyBoost
ApplyBoost was created by a team of ApplyBoard’s engineers, sales experts, and UX designers, with the goal of bringing together prospective international students and recruitment advisors. All advisors (who ApplyBoard also calls recruitment partners or RPs) in our network have been carefully reviewed by ApplyBoard to ensure students are working with some of the best performers.
In ApplyBoost, students are able to view an advisor’s:
- Agency name
- Agency location
- Core services they provide
- Service fees
- Destination countries (options for where you can study)
To access ApplyBoost, create a free profile on ApplyBoard’s student portal. ApplyBoost is currently only available to direct students from select countries, so be sure to include your nationality in your profile. As of May 2022, students from the Philippines and Sri Lanka are eligible. We plan to launch ApplyBoost in more countries soon, so keep an eye on our blog!

How to Use ApplyBoost
Once you log in to your ApplyBoard student profile, eligible students will see a button on their Dashboard with the text “Need help applying to study abroad?” See the screenshot below for reference.
Click on the blue “Connect Now” text to get started.
From there, you’ll be directed to the Partners page, which features contact, fee, and service information for three to four advisors in your area. If there’s a listing that looks interesting, click the blue “View Profile” button to go to that advisor’s landing page. The landing page features more details about the advisor, including an organization biography and further service info.
From the advisor landing page, you can either go back to the general Partners page, or click the “Hire Now” link to connect with them. If you click Hire Now, a popup will then appear, where you’ll fill in:
- Your full name
- Your birth date
- Gender
- Countries of interest
- Study services of interest
Once you submit the form on ApplyBoost, the advisor will contact you in the next two business days.

Find Your Best Match With ApplyBoost
Having a great working relationship with your advisor can help you make the most of your study abroad experience. If you decide the first advisor you hire isn’t quite the right match, you may then request a new advisor on the ApplyBoard dashboard. Underneath the “Your Advisor” headline in the dashboard (see screenshot below), click the “Request a new advisor” link. You’ll be directed to contact the ApplyBoard Support team, who will guide you through the process.

You’re On Your Way!
Once you’re matched with an advisor, they’ll work directly with you to guide you through your academic institution and program selection. They’ll help you assemble and submit the documents you’ll need, and then walk you through every step of the program application process. Depending on your advisor, they may also help you apply for a student visa.
