Introducing the Partner Schools Presenting at Top Recruiters Workshop – Delhi

ApplyBoard Top Recruiters Workshop - September 19 to 20, 2019 - Delhi, India

ApplyBoard’s Top Recruiters Workshop is just one month away. We’re excited to introduce the partner schools that will be presenting on September 19-20, 2019 in Delhi, India. Each college and university will share a one hour presentation about their institution, covering a variety of topics including an overview of the campus and location, popular programs, fees, international student services, accommodations, employment opportunities, and much more.

Throughout the event, recruitment partners will have the opportunity to interact with schools and ask questions in-person.

Here are the schools you can look forward to meeting:

Algoma University

Algoma University’s main campus is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, with a second campus in Brampton, Ontario. Established in 1965 as Algoma University College, students and faculty take pride in it being Ontario’s smallest university, with 1,600+ undergraduate students enrolled. International students make up 27% of the student body. This allows Algoma University to offer small class sizes that enable increased interaction between students and faculty.

Algoma is the only post-secondary institution in the province strictly for undergraduate students. It offers a wide range of cultural, academic and social activities that make for a unique and meaningful experience. For international students, Algoma offers a homestay program. They also pair each new international student with a mentor from their Algoma Student Ambassador Program.

Langara College

Langara College is located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The college welcomes over 23,000 students each year, with over 6,000 being international students from all over the world. With over 130 programs, and 1,700 courses international students have the opportunity to cater their education to their own needs. Langara also has an International Education Department that helps students integrate into Canada and life on campus.

Laurentian University

Located in Sudbury, Ontario, Laurentian University is home to 9,000 students. The school is situated on a beautiful 750-acre campus. International students represent 6.5% of the student population from more than 60 countries. Laurentian offers unique programs that provide knowledge on watershed systems, rural and northern children’s health, particle astrophysics, and more. Laurentian offers more than 175 degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, small class sizes, and 800 course sections available in French.

At Laurentian, class sizes are kept small to ensure students feel supported throughout their education. The team at Laurentian is experienced in understanding the needs of international students, they strive to provide a caring and supportive environment so international students feel at home.

LaSalle College

LaSalle College has campuses in Montreal, Quebec, and Vancouver, British Columbia. It was founded by Jean-Paul Morning in 1959 in the LaSalle borough of Montreal. LaSalle College has a strong international focus, and each year it welcomes close to 25% of its 15,000 student population from around the world. LaSalle College also prides itself on small class sizes, a friendly environment, hands-on delivery of information, and assisting its students in achieving their career goals.

The Vancouver campus focuses on programs in the applied arts, while the Montreal campus offers programs in business, management, and economics.

Royal Roads University

Royal Roads University is located on the grounds of the former Royal Roads Military College at Hatley Park National Historic Site on scenic Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With a student population of 5,300, it includes 550+ international students from 60+ countries. Programs are practical and applied, delivered by faculty with industry experience. Royal Roads features group-based coursework where students challenge and grow together throughout their program. For international students, Royal Roads’ student engagement team offers a special orientation catered to the unique needs of international students.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic

Saskatchewan Polytechnic has nearly 20,000 students enrolled across campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon, each located in Saskatchewan, one of Canada’s prairie provinces. As a polytechnic institution, it offers certificate, diploma, degree programs, and apprenticeship training with a technical focus. Saskatchewan Polytechnic is proud to offer programs with co-op opportunities to build experience and earn an income.

Toronto Film School

Toronto Film School conveniently located in downtown Toronto, and offers creative diploma programs to prepare students for a career in Film, entertainment, fashion, design, and video games. With nearly 1,446 students enrolled, class sizes are kept small to give students an optimal learning environment to convert their creativity into practical skills. The teachers at the Toronto Film School are professionals who understand the industry and transform students into award-winning graduates.

Toronto is the go-to city in Ontario for fashion, film, and design, putting the Toronto Film School front and center of the industry.

University Canada West

Established in 2004 and located in the heart of vibrant Vancouver, University Canada West (UCW) offers a range of career-focused programs, including a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, and Master of Business Administration. UCW draws students from more than 40 countries, offers a dynamic learning environment, high levels of interaction within the classroom, and competitive tuition rates. Its close proximity to the industry in Vancouver improves students’ ability to gain industry experience through work opportunities.
