Master of Applied Human Nutrition – Mount Saint Vincent University

Work-Integrated Learning?: Yes, optional internship or practicum
Gross Tuition: C$11,700

Students at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) take classes minutes out of downtown Halifax, one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities. A lively cultural scene, lower cost of living, and lots of urban parks makes Halifax somewhere everyone can thrive.

MSVU’s class sizes average under 24 students. In smaller classes, students have more opportunities to test new ideas in discussions. Plus, with hands-on learning built into every MSVU program, students gain practical skills to use in their career.

Master of Science – Applied Human Nutrition students learn about community and individual nutrition, food design, and nutrition counselling. If students want to become dietitians, they may also apply to the Internship Education Program (IEP). In the IEP, students use coursework and internship learnings to prepare for the entry-level Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice competency.

Master of Business Administration, Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship – Memorial University of Newfoundland

Work-integrated Learning?: Yes, a 4-month internship
Gross Tuition: C$17,300

Memorial University of Newfoundland welcomes students from over 100 countries to its campuses in St. John’s and Grenfell, Newfoundland. Over 40% of the university’s research is ocean-related, so it’s a great option for students interested in fields from supply chain management to marine biology.

Building a better future is part of the university’s mission, and it has been awarded related accolades including the United Nations’ Climate Solution Award and Governor General’s Innovation Awards.

This socially-conscious focus is especially clear in programs like the one-year Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship MBA (MBA-SEE). It’s the first MBA program in Canada based on the three pillars of sustainability: people, profit, and planet. Plus, it’s certified by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Students enter the program as a cohort, so they’ll take most of their classes with the same group of students. Having familiar faces in class can help students settle in while also building their professional network.

Note: MBA-SEE program admissions are temporarily paused. So, if this program sounds interesting, please check the ApplyBoard program page for updates.

Master of Engineering, Telecommunications and Information Security – University of Victoria

Work-integrated Learning?: Yes, an optional co-op term
Gross Tuition: C$31,700

The one-year Master of Engineering – Telecommunications and Information Security (MTIS) program attracts students interested in everything from ethical hacking to modeling network traffic. The program requires at least one year of full-time study to complete, but some students will extend this to do an optional co-op term.

MTIS students often come from computer or electrical engineering, or computer science backgrounds. After graduating from MTIS, graduates leverage their expanded knowledge of cybersecurity and network management to leadership roles in related industries.

The University of Victoria (UVic) main campus is surrounded by old-growth rainforest and is 10 minutes away from the beach—but this doesn’t stop students and faculty from excelling. The university was recognized as one of Canada’s top-three comprehensive universities in 2024. And in 2024, Times Higher Education ranked UVic eighth in Canada for graduate employability, signaling that many of its grads go on to bright futures.

Work-integrated Learning?: Yes, an optional co-op term
Gross Tuition: C$35,500

Did you know the University of Manitoba is almost as old as Canada itself? It was founded in 1877, and is a member of the U15, Canada’s group of premier research universities. In 2024, it was ranked in Canada’s top 15 medical doctoral universities, rated highly for student services, libraries, and student-to-faculty ratio.

In the three-term, minimum one-year Asper Master of Finance program, students prepare to write the three exams needed to obtain a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. As such, this program has been tailored to align with the CFA program curriculum.

While this program’s one-year track is accelerated, students are supported through the Asper MFin Mentor Program. This mentorship program connects students with senior finance professionals who share their network and help students build leadership skills. MFin graduates go on to work in fields like investment banking and asset management.
