In addition to the honours mentioned above, Queen’s ranked among the very best in the world in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The accolades don’t stop there. Queen’s University’s programs are consistently recognized as some of the finest in Canada. The university’s biology, computer science, education, engineering, and nursing programs all cracked the top 10 in Canada on Maclean’s 2022 Top Schools by Program list, with nursing landing the top spot. Queen’s also consistently gets top marks for student experience.

Full-time international tuition fees vary by program and level:

  • English as a Second Language: C$3,900–C$12,900
  • Three-year bachelor’s degree: C$50,926 per year
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree: C$33,875–C$54,991 per year

Life After School

With its wealth of research-intensive and interdisciplinary programs, it’s no surprise that an impressive 91% of Queen’s graduates land a job within six months of graduation.

International students studying in Canada can also benefit from the country’s Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWPP). This program allows eligible applicants the opportunity to live and work in Canada for up to three years after graduating, offering a viable path to permanent residency for international students who want to call this diverse and welcoming country home.

On-Campus Accommodation

With 17 residences across campus, there’s an option to fit each student’s unique needs. Queen’s offers a wide range of services to ensure students feel supported during their time in residence, so it’s no surprise that Queen’s ranked #2 in residence living in the Maclean’s 2022 student satisfaction rankings. More than 90% of first-year students opt to live in residence.

Living on campus is the ideal opportunity for international students to form lifelong friendships. Students are “invited to participate in a variety of social activities, cultural events, and educational programs, and encouraged to try new things to balance your personal and social interests, your health and well-being, and your academic goals.”

Financial Support at a Glance

Queen’s University believes wholeheartedly in recognizing academic excellence. International students entering their first year of post-secondary studies at Queen’s are eligible for a number of International Admission Scholarships and Awards. Eligible international applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships and awards, which are open across all programs of study:

  • Principal’s Scholarship (Total Value = C$4,000)
  • Excellence Scholarship (Total Value = C$1,500)
  • Queen’s University International Admission Scholarship (Total Value = C$9,000)
  • Principal’s International Scholarship – India (Total Value = C$20,000)
  • Mehran Bibi Sheikh Memorial Entrance Scholarship (Total Value = C$1,500)
  • Killam American Scholarship (Total Value = C$9,000)
  • Faculty of Arts and Science International Awards (Total Value = C$60,000–$100,000)*

*Open to international students from eligible countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Getting to Know Kingston

Home to not only Queen’s University, but also St. Lawrence College and the Royal Military College, Kingston is a university town in every sense of the word. So much so that the BBC named Kingston one of the top five university towns in the world

Students will have the opportunity to take advantage of an incredible array of shopping, museums, and sporting events. The city also offers a bustling nightlife, including great live music and local festivals. Last but not least, foodies will enjoy checking out some of Kingston’s more than 300 restaurants.

Students will love taking a scenic river cruise to Kingston’s famed 1000 Islands. History is everywhere you turn in Kingston. The city is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites—the Rideau Canal and Fort Henry—and no one’s time in this incredible city is complete without exploring both.
