ApplyBoard is proud to work alongside a growing global network of over 10,000 recruitment partners (RPs). These international education professionals help students submit their applications to study abroad in countries like Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Ireland. RPs understand both their local education systems and the intricacies of the international application process. We’ve caught up with one of our recruitment partners for a quick Q&A to learn more about his work.
In Canada, international students make up around 18% of post-secondary student bodies. As college and university campuses diversify, and welcome more international students, it’s important these students are connected with programs that suit their academic goals.
Recruitment partners focus on making study abroad dreams possible. Before joining our network, each RP is screened by the ApplyBoard team to ensure their practices meet a high standard. While RPs work directly with students, ApplyBoard provides an all-in-one platform where RPs can research study abroad opportunities, help their students apply to programs, and monitor application progress.
The ApplyBoard team also offers support if an application is delayed, and checks that each application is complete before final submission. By working together, we can improve each student’s chances of being accepted to the program of their dreams.

How has the ApplyBoard process and account management system supported you and your students?
I was not [yet] into helping students study abroad in Canada before ApplyBoard; I was only supporting students going to Australia. Since joining ApplyBoard, I’ve started doing applications for Canada, and it’s been a wonderful journey since then. It’s very systematic, it’s very easy to understand, and the support system that the ApplyBoard team offers me is absolutely fantastic.
What is a unique achievement you’re especially proud of?
I have been at a 100% success rate in terms of visas. All students who have applied with me through ApplyBoard have achieved their student visas. This is no small success!
What advice would you have for other recruitment partners like yourself, or others who support students who want to study abroad?
People are not always aware of the kinds of processes you need to go through, and students can in turn suffer due to the lack of knowledge on the part of the consultant. So, ApplyBoard bridges that important gap. It’s a very unique platform; every detail is there for an application, right from the start.
You can counsel [students] with the information that’s on the ApplyBoard Platform. Plus, you can help the students do multiple applications, then see the offers for the students through the portal. You can communicate with the colleges on the portal as well. That helps a businessman like me to achieve success.
Can you talk about one of your successes in sending students to a Canadian university?
One student [I worked with] recently was very bright. He is currently in Canada studying at the University of Regina in a master’s program. When he and his parents came to me, he already had multiple offers from colleges across Canada, but, after looking at his profile, I offered this particular program.
He and his family were happy to go with it. Patience was key to our success; we went through the application process together, and the ApplyBoard [Platform] helped us with this. We were able to manage a good offer for him and now he is studying abroad.
One more thing—many students find their study abroad information on the internet. So, many of them are largely aware of Toronto and Vancouver. They’re not always looking at different cities or opportunities that are available [in Canada]. One example of a different opportunity is the University of Regina, which we found offers good course content and can offer students good opportunities.
That’s great to know! Any final thoughts?
I appreciate the journey I’ve had with ApplyBoard. It’s been a wonderful experience for me, and ApplyBoard has really helped me to support students for [study in] Canada.
