International students benefit from a broad range of career options and international study experience, but it can be a considerable investment of time and resources. Luckily, scholarships for international students can reduce the financial cost.
Here, we’ll explore scholarships open to multiple universities and colleges in the Atlantic Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Looking into studying abroad? Research your target schools to learn what scholarships they offer. Many institutions have dedicated scholarships for international students. Other scholarships are open to local and international students. If you’ve looked at a scholarship’s eligibility criteria and still aren’t sure if you can apply, reach out to the scholarship contact. That email could end up saving you thousands of dollars in tuition!
Strategies for Scholarship Success
The scholarships below are open to multiple schools within each province, so they are good ones to bookmark early. As you build your list of target schools, look at scholarships open to international students at those specific schools. Compiling a list of due dates and what supporting documents they require can help you stay organized.
Don’t Forget: Before you send in your scholarship applications, ask someone to read them. That second read-through might catch something you’ve missed, or they can add something to help your answers stand out.
Also, remember to look for Canada-wide government scholarships! While these are often for postgraduate studies, they can go a long way to support your research.
