About

Upper Canada College school is a CAIS (Canadian Association of Independent Schools) Boarding School. From their  founding in 1829, Upper Canada College has been educating the next generation of leaders and innovators, inspiring them to make a positive impact on their world. In their nearly 200-year history, the school has undergone incredible transformation. Alongside the historical landmarks many associate with UCC —  the ivy-covered walls, iron front gates, majestic clock tower — stand modern facilities and adaptable learning spaces equipped with the latest technology.

UCC's approach to education has similarly evolved. The College’s foundational focus on a liberal education is delivered through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes, globally recognized as the gold standard for university preparatory programs.

Why Upper Canada College

Campus: Upper Canada College is located on 35 acres of green space in the heart of Toronto, the largest city in Canada and one of the world’s most multicultural urban centres. 

Facilities: The extensive facilities include a double-pad arena with National Hockey League- and Olympic-sized rinks, a fitness complex, tennis courts, swimming pool, recital hall, theatre, film and computer labs, music studios with professional recording equipment, and state-of-the art science labs.

Culture: The urban boarding experience offered at UCC is incomparable. Taking factors such as safety, culture, pluralism and government stability into consideration, Toronto is an ideal environment for learning. 

Weekend and co-ed activities: We provide a vast array of planned weekend activities, including co-ed events with students of local girls’ schools. In class and beyond, activities are designed to support the boys in their learning journeys.

Food: Nutritious delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners are available in the Upper Dining Hall. Each house is equipped with fridges and a “toast and milk” room. Students may order delivery food at the discretion of the senior house adviser. They may also purchase food at the nearby grocery stores.
