Alma College

Located in the city of Alma, a community of 10,000, Alma College features a walkable campus with historic and contemporary buildings. The campus is a block from downtown Alma and within two hours of Michigan beaches and ski areas.

In the more than 130 years since its founding, Alma College has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive.  Scottish pride thrives in Alma, known affectionately as Scotland USA. Alma College serves as a community partner and the host to the annual Highland Festival, featuring traditional Scottish games, music and revelry during Memorial Day weekend. The festival, one of the largest games in North America, attracts more than 250 bagpipers, world champion highland dancers and world record-holding highland athletes.

• Student Success: 91%  of 2021 Alma graduates working, enrolled in graduate school or participating in a service program within six months of graduation 

• Automatic Scholarships: Every student who is accepted will receive a scholarship of some kind

• The Alma Commitment:  If a student follows the path but doesn't graduate on time, Alma will pay their tuition for an additional term. Depending upon the major selected, the college’s commitment to on-time graduation may apply to either a four-year or a 4.5-year academic program.

• Residence Life:  All students are expected to live in college-owned or approved housing through our intentional experiential housing model.
