About Comox Valley School District 71 (CVSD71) - Elementary Schools

Comox Valley School District 71 (CVSD 71) is a positive, progressive, and growing school district situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island on the traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation. Located within the Valley are the municipalities CVSD 71 serves: the City of Courtenay, the Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland and the Regional District; each providing their own unique services and community cultures.


Canada’s education system continues to be ranked in the top five of all countries in the world. BC is always ranked top 3 in Canada. All Comox Valley School District students are taught by BC Government certified teachers. The international program accepts students of all ages – Kindergarten through to Grade 12. The Homestay Program begins at grade six and students younger than this must live with an adult relative. As a learning organization, Comox Valley School District works closely with its educational partners to develop responsible, compassionate citizens and successful lifelong learners. Over 1,600 employees work to provide a comprehensive educational program to approximately 8,600 students from kindergarten to grade 12.
