About Erindale Academy

The Erindale Academy is an independent co-ed high school situated in the historic neighbourhood of Erindale, across from Erindale Park and the University of Toronto. Erindale Academy is a private high school that provides an ideal environment for international students who desire to make a smooth transition from education in their home country to a university or college in North America. Erindale provides goal-oriented, individualized education to help each student. On the first day, they establish a study plan to help students get into the university or college of their choice.  Erindale Academy is proud to announce that they finished 2nd in Peel in Waterloo’s Euclid Math Competition. Every April the University of Waterloo offers the Euclid Mathematics contest for students in their final year of secondary school. It is an extremely challenging two and a half-hour test written by over 19,000 high school students around the world. The contest challenges some of the best math students.

Erindale’s educators are led by George Vanderkurr. George brings over 30 years of experience to The Erindale Academy. George is the former Chief Scientist at the Ontario Science Centre and later, an Associate Director. He was a curriculum consultant for the Toronto District School Board. He was also the President of the Royal Canadian Institute for the Advancement of Science. In 2002 He received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.

TEA is committed to providing their students with a wholesome education, which involves activities outside the classroom that will enrich their students’ lives. Whether it is horseback riding, pumpkin carving or volunteering, they encourage and provide their students with a diversity of opportunities to open their eyes to the world and to learn new things. These activities are designed to help develop students’ soft skills, such as leadership, time management and teamwork, allowing them to become well-rounded individuals.

Erindale Academy believes that strong foundations make strong students who will be able to overcome any obstacles thrown in their path.
