About College Diploma - Mechanical Engineering Technician - CNC/CAM (MNC2S) (Co-op)
The Mechanical Engineering Technician - CNC/CAM program provides the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the modern machining environment.
Students will focus their learning on machine trade theory, machine shop, mechanical blueprint reading and applied mathematics and Computer Aided Design (CAD). They will get hands on experience with the computer applications and software used in Computer Aided Machining (CAM) and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) programs. Students will have cutting –edge knowledge for the always evolving computer manufacturing world. Plus, There's also a mandatory co-op placement in year two of the program, so students can earn while they learn, testing their knowledge in real situations, in real machine shops.
When students graduate, they will be qualified to work in production and jobbing shops, aircraft and aerospace, automotive, cabinetmaking, agricultural machinery production, instrumentation and service industries.
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Complete all work in compliance with current legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines
- Apply quality control and quality assurance procedures to meet organizational standards and requirements
- Comply with current health and safety legislation, as well as organizational practices and procedures
- Apply sustainability best practices in workplaces. 5. use current and emerging technologies to support the implementation of mechanical engineering projects
- Analyze and solve mechanical problems by applying mathematics and fundamentals of mechanical engineering
- Interpret, prepare and modify mechanical engineering drawings and other related technical documents
- Contribute to the design and the analysis of mechanical components, processes and systems applying fundamentals of mechanical engineering
- Manufacture, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical components according to required specifications
- Verify the specifications of materials, processes and operations to support the design and production of mechanical components
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of projects
- Develop strategies for ongoing personal and professional development to enhance work performance
