Green River College is a public two-year college where students from all over the world come together to learn, grow and enrich their lives. Green River’s main campus, founded in Auburn’s Lea Hill neighborhood in 1965, stretches over 180 acres of beautifully forested land. Branch campuses, located in downtown Auburn, Kent and Enumclaw, bring the college’s unique educational experiences to local communities.
At Green River, students can choose from a wide variety of transfer degrees, bachelor of applied science degrees, career and technical education, pre-college and basic skills courses and continuing and community education classes. High-quality faculty and motivated staff advise, counsel and support students in their chosen educational careers, creating an encouraging atmosphere that fosters achievement.

- Area: Green River College is located in the small, safe city of Auburn, Washington, a city with a population of 77,000. Auburn has a large shopping mall as well as several movie theaters, a concert venue, parks, biking and hiking trails, and athletic facilities. Only 45 minutes to 2 hours away from locations such as Seattle, Vancouver, Canada, Mount Rainier National Park, and the Pacific Ocean beaches.
- Campus: The campus is located on 186 acres of forested land and is known for its beautiful park-like setting, and its safe, friendly and peaceful study environment. It also has new modern buildings and facilities such as the Holman Library which serves the students, faculty, and staff of Green River College by providing the resources and services necessary to ensure access to information and development of information literacy skills or the Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC) which strives to provide safe and healthy outlets for Green River students to exercise and play sports.
- Culture: Students at Green River are encouraged to get involved and fully engage in the college experience. Many student clubs and organizations are available including musical, athletic, cultural, educational and degree-specific opportunities like the college’s newspaper The Current and broadcasting on the student-operated radio stations KGRG and KGRG.1.
