About Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) - Dundas Valley Secondary School
Dundas Valley Secondary School was founded in 2014 when Highland Secondary School and Parkside High School both closed down. With 1,100 students through grades 9-12, Dundas Valley Secondary School offers Grade 9 and 10 Pre-International Baccalaureate programs, various sports teams including football, basketball, track and field, and soccer, and a fantastic student council. Dundas Valley is creating an empathic culture of respect and learning through the lens of human rights.
Why Dundas Valley Secondary School
- Course variety: Dundas Valley offers two years of Pre-International Baccalaureate in grades 9 and 10 to ensure success in the latter years of the IB program. It also offers Specialist High Skill Majors in Arts & Culture, Business, Manufacturing, and Transportation.
- Extracurricular activities: Dundas Valley hosts an active school council, and places heavy emphasis on parent and community involvement. It has over 15 sports teams including baseball, football, tennis, water polo, hockey, and soccer, among many more.
