The University has roots going back more than 120 years to the Kingston Technical Institute which opened in 1899.

Kingston School of Art, Knights Park is set in beautiful riverside location, a short walk from Kingston town centre and the Penrhyn Road campus. The restaurant and bar are right next to the picturesque Hogsmill River, providing a beautiful backdrop for breaks in-between lectures.

Students here all work together in specialist workshops and studios equipped with the most recent design software programmes. The hub of the campus and home of Kingston School of Art is the Mill Street Building. The University's Stanley Picker Gallery is also based at Knights Park. The gallery has a broad programme of exhibitions and events by artists, designers and Kingston students.
