About Langley School District 35 (LSD35)
Founded in 1871 the Langley School District 25 (LSD35) is on a mission to inspire all learners to reach their full potential and create a positive legacy for the future. The school board hoper to achieve this by fostering an innovating, inspiring and unified learning community.
British Columbia schools strive to develop positive and welcoming school cultures, and are committed to fostering optimal environments for learning. Members of these school communities share a commitment to maintaining safe, caring and orderly schools. They focus on prevention of problems and use school-wide efforts to build "community", fostering respect, inclusion, fairness and equity. They set, communicate, and consistently reinforce clear expectations of acceptable conduct. They teach, model and encourage socially responsible behaviours that contribute to the school community, solve problems is peaceful ways, value diversity and defend human rights.
The Langley School District 35 offers educational opportunities for students from around the world to study in Canada. Students will live with local families, coordinated through the District’s homestay program, which provides students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Canadian culture while furthering their education.

Why Langley School District 35 (LSD35)
- Location: Centrally located in Metro Vancouver in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, Langley City is a major hub within the region as well as a gateway to the rapidly growing Fraser Valley region. With a Regional City Centre designation in place and SkyTrain extension planned, Langley City is poised to continue to grow in our role as a significant business and service destination within the Lower Mainland.
- British Columbia Curriculum: British Columbia's curriculum has been redesigned to respond to the demanding world students are entering. To develop new models, the Ministry consulted with experts in the field. They suggested that to prepare students for the future, the curriculum must be learner-centered and flexible and maintain a focus on literacy and numeracy, while supporting a deeper learning through concept-based and competency-driven approaches.
- Integrative School System: The district serves about 24,600 students, employs over 3,800 teachers, support staff and administrators; and has an opening budget of $331.4 million. The district has 45 schools providing International Baccalaureate, French Immersion, Fundamental and Alternative programs.
- Community: Located approximately 45 kilometres southeast of Vancouver, BC, Langley School District provides services to the Matsqui, Kwantlen, Katzie, Semiahmoo First Nations, the City of Langley, and the Township of Langley. The District is honoured to operate on the unceded traditional territories of the Matsqui, Kwantlen, Katzie, and Semiahmoo First Nations. The District extends from the US border, north to the Fraser River and is neighbour to the communities of Surrey to the west and Abbotsford to the east. Total area of the district is 313 square kilometres made up of four communities.
