MetFilm School delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in filmmaking, screen acting, and digital media. With campuses in Berlin, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, London, and Manchester, students gain access to vibrant creative hubs across Europe. The university is made up of MetFilm School, BIMM Music Institute, Performers College, and MetStudios. - Film scene: Manchester is a city with a rich film and television history. It is home to major UK broadcasters and regularly hosts productions from Sky Originals, Netflix and Hollywood studios. The picturesque Calderdale area was an important shooting location for Happy Valley, and the Northern Quarter has served as a backdrop for various other film and TV projects.
- Campus: The campus, located at Riverside Studios in Spinningfields, is just a stone’s throw from industry hotspots like Manchester Studios, ABC, and The Factory. This means that from day one, immersion in the city’s thriving film industry is immediate. Students at the Manchester campus benefit from two well-equipped production studios, each suited to different filmmaking practices. Studio 1 is an adjustable drama film set that enables students to familiarize themselves with set etiquette, chains of command, multi-camera film directing, and more. Studio 2, on the other hand, features a green screen infinity cove for music promos and live TV filming. There is also access to a gallery, green room, make-up space, and guest waiting area.

The city’s most famous exports include Oscar-winning film director Danny Boyle, iconic bands like The Smiths, Oasis, and Pale Waves, and the globally-celebrated football teams who play in red and blue. Historical figures from Manchester include suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst, a key figure in the fight for women’s votes, presenter Professor Brian Cox, and philosopher Friedrich Engels.
