Founded in the heart of Hollywood in 1977, Musicians Institute (MI) is a College of Contemporary Music built on the idea that musicians should teach—and learn from—other musicians in a creative, supportive environment.
Musicians Institute is dedicated to inspiring artistic and academic excellence while preparing students for careers in the music and entertainment industry. Their cutting-edge educational offerings provide the information, skills and expertise necessary for musicians and creative professionals to achieve their goals. They strive to develop a diverse array of talented individuals who can enrich the global community with their artistic contributions.

As an institution that is dedicated to preparing students for careers in the diversified music and entertainment industry, MI strives to cultivate talented individuals from across all backgrounds with conscious efforts to enrich the global public.
Musicians Institute offers a complete education in every aspect of the music industry, including instrumental performance, DJ & producing skills, composing for video games, audio engineering, guitar building, music business, and training in the latest music technology. Through real-world experience and guidance from working professionals, students can earn a variety of degrees and certificates, while taking advantage of networking opportunities at its state-of-the-art Los Angeles campus.
- Campus: Located at the bustling intersection of Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles, Musicians Institute’s campus includes facilities devoted to a variety of programs and purposes. The 60,000-square-foot Main Complex is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except holidays. It includes a variety of performance venues, recording studios, classrooms, practice and private lesson rooms, production labs, and a library.
- Facilities: Studios are equipped with the latest technology including a SSL Duality SE 24-Channel Hybrid console, a THX-certified dubbing stage, an API 1608 32-channel analog console, an Avid Euphonix S5 Fusion 24 console, software programs such as Logic, ProTools, Ableton Live, Sibelius and Finale; and much more.
- MI Connects: MI Connects is a proprietary service available to current MI alumni and students seeking: jobs, internships, EPK development, collaborations and gig opportunities. This in-house network is sustained by ACS’s modern approach and partnership deals with a vast number of entertainment entities ranging, but not limited to: scouts, managers, producers, agents, labels, major artists and directors. These connections give MI students and alumni the competitive edge in addition to real-world application of their newly developed skills.
- Professional Instructors: Instructors are working professionals, touring and recording with top artists, who bring their experiences back to the classroom.
