About Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT)
The NIT – founded 1998 by Professors of the TUHH to be the first Business School in northern Germany. The Hamburg University of Technology TUHH is one of Germany's youngest and excellent technical universities.
At the NIT Northern Institute of Technology Management in Hamburg, talented students from all over the world learn how to master management tasks responsibly. In ideal learning environments, they develop skills to master the challenges of fast moving environments and actively shape the world of tomorrow. They acquire these skills in NIT’s practice-oriented Technology Management program (MBA/M.A.) or in its innovative lifelong learning offers.
Students can also accelerate their career with the rigorous Business Analytics & AI Master's. Designed for working professionals, this program equips students with the skills to drive data-driven innovation.

- Start-Ups: A successful start-up is founded at the NIT almost every year. And almost every year, this startup receives EXIST funding! At the NIT Northern Institute of Technology Management, students can develop their own business idea or even find their own startup. In the MyProject modules they are familiarized with all relevant business tools and concepts. The NIT curriculum covers the entire process from forming a business idea to finding investors, sales, and marketing. The following overview showcases a few of the many great ideas and startups that were founded by NIT Alumni during or after the Technology Management program.
- Internationally Acclaimed Faculty: NIT students’ excellent education is based on the know-how of international professors and faculty members with practical experience. They come from acclaimed universities in Europe, the USA, and Australia or from successful, international companies.
- Student Life: NIT provides students with a wide-ranging wealth of experience. Students, staff and network partners come together in after-work activities, at subject presentations, and at parties. In the process, they make what is special about the NIT’s unique community continue to grow. Many students live and learn under one roof and maintain close ties with the NIT as their new home. NIT staff are happy to be of assistance and will readily answer questions about studies, the building, and hints on where to go and what to see in Hamburg.
- Central location in Hamburg-Harburg: The NIT is located on the Campus of the known Technical University of Hamburg in the District of Hamburg-Harburg. Due to its central location south of the Elbe River, the NIT Campus can easily be reached by long-distance trains, by flight via Hamburg Airport, and local public transport. It’s only 15 minutes from Campus to the world famous Hamburg Harbour and the inner city of Hamburg with all its sightseeing spots like historical Townhall, cultural offers like Elbphilharmonie, international gastronomy, shopping amenities, Sports stadiums and concert halls, and relaxing spaces in beautiful parks, Zoo, Museums, and nature even in the inner city.
