About Plymouth State University

Far from the sameness of many universities, Plymouth State stands out as an innovator. Since being founded in 1871, Plymouth State has offered a rich, student-focused learning environment. With an enrollment of approximately 4,100 undergraduate and approximately 3,000 graduate students, the 170-acre campus offers a classic New England look combined with up-to-date facilities. These include the Lamson Library; the Boyd Science Center; Langdon Woods, a LEED certified, environmentally conscious residence hall; a Welcome Center and Ice Arena; ALLWell North, a 107,600-square-foot academic and athletic complex; and PSU’s newest addition, Merrill Place Residence Hall and Conference Center. Plymouth State University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of study areas.

Why Plymouth State University

  • Location: Located in central New Hampshire at the gateway to the White Mountains and the Lakes Region in the quaint town of Plymouth, Plymouth State University is within minutes of ski resorts, lakes, and parks and only two hours from Boston.
  • Facilities: Students will have access to some of the most comprehensive state-of-the-art laboratories, research facilities, and learning environments in the region. There’s ample real-world experience to be had through PSU's Integrated Clusters and Open Labs, their extensive network of undergraduate research opportunities, professional internships, national and international study programs, and service-learning and community service opportunities.
  • Size: With less that 10,000 students at PSU, students receive the educational experience one would expect from a private school: small classes taught by dedicated faculty whose passion for teaching will spark both intelligence and imagination; personal attention from faculty and staff; and outstanding opportunities to lead and to serve.
