The Prince Edward Island International Student Program (PEIISP) was created to deliver K-12 public education opportunities to the global community through the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning. International students who reside outside of Canada may apply to attend one of 62 public schools in Prince Edward Island. The public schools are among a network of Canadian educational institutions who welcome international students to study and experience the Island way of life. High school students can choose from a variety of subjects within the Prince Edward Island program including Arts, Business Education, Career Education, Career and Technical Education, Communication and Information Technology, Core French, Culinary, English as an Additional Language, Language Arts, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies.

• Community: Prince Edward Island is quiet, peaceful, and safe with the lowest crime rate in the country, with a population of around 155,000 on a tiny crescent-shaped piece of land in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The public schools are excellent, and care about the communities and neighbours. Prince Edward Islanders value family, which includes the whole community, bonded through friendship and locale. 
• Classroom: PEI schools offer a wide range of programs provided by dedicated and caring staff. Students can participate in real world learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. 
• Weather: Prince Edward Island has a mild climate thanks to the warm waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Being surrounded by water also means that there is usually a breeze and at times can get quite windy. A range of activities are available with the four distinct seasons.
