Purdue University Northwest is a premier metropolitan university dedicated to empowering transformational change in students and in community. PNW offers two campuses serving approximately 9,300 undergraduate and graduate students. These two campuses are a short trip away from one another and programs are offered through both under PNW. PNW values academic excellence, support growth, and celebrate diversity.

PNW’s five colleges offer more than 70 areas of study for undergraduate and graduate students. PNW is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and is consistently recognized among the best regional universities in the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.

PNW emphasis on research and applied learning opportunities means students graduate ready for the next phase of their lives.

The community is full of contrasts: urban and rural, industrial and natural, well-established history and forward-thinking innovation. PNW's determined students — many of whom are the first in their families to attend college — make the most of this rich range of resources. The Hammond campus is only 30 miles from Chicago and the Westville campus is only 15 miles from the Indiana Dunes National Park. PNW's impact also extends well beyond the region. Students from 30 states and 47 countries currently attend PNW, taking what they learn here and applying it all around the world.

Purdue University Northwest transforms students’ lives and the metropolitan region through a diverse campus committed to innovative education, applied research, and community engagement.
