About Shoreline Community College

Founded in 1964, Shoreline Community College offers more than 100 rigorous academic and professional/technical degrees and certificates to meet the lifelong learning needs of its diverse students and communities. Dedicated faculty and staff are committed to the educational success of its 10,000+ students who hail from across the United States and over 50 countries.

Located 10 miles north of downtown Seattle, Shoreline’s campus is one of the most strikingly beautiful college campuses in Washington state. The grounds once served as a special place to the Duwamish people for gathering traditional foods in ways that increased the bounty of the land.

Why Shoreline Community College

  • Campus Life: Being a student at Shoreline means having opportunities in a healthy learning environment made possible by the entire campus community. This is expressed through Shoreline's community standards statement. Students will also love their campus; it's easy to get around and has a gorgeous, natural setting. Through campus events, students will have the chance to engage a broad array of professionals from manufacturing, documentary filmmaking, international non-profit organizations, executives of leading corporations, visiting faculty from local and international universities and more.
  • Facilities: Classrooms and computer labs are available for seminars, testing and presentations; which can accommodate 15 to 126 attendees. Many rooms include "Smart" state-of-the-art media equipment. SCC campus theater will comfortably seat 369 guests and features tiered seating, professional lighting, sound systems and an orchestra pit area below the stage. The music building has an array of facilities from tiered performance halls to small practice rooms. The campus gymnasium and athletic facilities are available for sporting and other events. The Pagoda Student Union Building (PUB) features two bright dining rooms and three conference rooms.
  • Location: Shoreline is located in Seattle, Washington, in a safe, quiet neighborhood with direct bus access to downtown. Within minutes students are in the center of this exciting city on the northwest coast of the United States — an area that is rich in cultural and outdoor activities. Seattle's spectacular natural setting features emerald forests, snow-capped mountains  and beautiful Puget Sound, making it one of the best places to live in the United States.
  • Academic Flexibility: Shoreline offers a two-year degree that makes it easy to transfer to university for the final two years of students' bachelor's degree. Shoreline is recognized for sending a high percentage of its graduates on to four-year universities, including the nearby University of Washington and Seattle University, as well as other nationally known universities. For the student who wishes to earn a bachelor's degree at a U.S. university, a degree from Shoreline opens many doors.
