St. John's Academy - Shawnigan Lake

St. John’s Academy  Shawnigan Lake is situated on 23 acres, located on the shores of Shawnigan Lake where nature captures the imagination. This ideal location provides unique educational experiences, a location that nurtures the care of the whole child. For over 28 years, this school has been home for many selected students (Grades 6 to 12) from around the world and our local communities.

St. John’s Academy offers a unique educational experience to a small group of selected students from around the world. They are a high school that offers full courses leading to fluency in English as well as the skills and knowledge needed for graduation. Students at St. John’s Academy, that successfully complete their programs, graduate with a British Columbia High School Certificate (the “Dogwood). This certificate will help prepare students for their next step, to be admitted to the universities or colleges that match their results and future goals. Located along the shore of beautiful Shawnigan Lake in British Columbia, St. John's Academy is proud to provide a welcoming and stimulating environment.

They offer a range of activities for residential boarding students giving students an opportunity to be involved in group and individual activities that develop their social, emotional, and life skills.

Given the pristine environment in which St. John’s Academy resides, a key component of life at St. John’s Academy Shawnigan Lake will be developing important interpersonal and self-management skills and striking a balance between academic life and the fulfillment and happiness achieved through spending time outdoors in outdoor pursuits. Students will have regular opportunities to hike, kayak, sail, and golf in their spare time and they will also be taken outside of the classroom to explore subject content in their academic classes as well. Nature provides an ideal classroom where students will learn not just important academic lessons, but they will discover who they are.
