About State University of New York (SUNY) Cobleskill

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill is an accredited college that is primarily baccalaureate and residential. SUNY Cobleskill is committed to providing a student-focused education with small classes, excellent facilities and a hands-on learning environment. SUNY Cobleskill places an emphasis on integrating classroom instruction with strong field experiences. The College prepares students for successful careers, advanced studies, and engaged participation in the global society. The founding principle that students “learn by doing” was formalized in 2016 with the SUNY system’s first applied learning requirement, guaranteeing that every student graduates with real-world experience in their field of study.

Why SUNY Cobleskill?

  • State of the Art Facilities: The new Center for Environmental Science and Technology and the $38.7-million Center for Agricultural and Natural Resources provide students with state-of-the-art facilities to pursue study and research opportunities in Environmental and Energy Technology, Plant Sciences, Fisheries & Wildlife, and Animal Sciences.
  • Student Life: The academic experience at SUNY Cobleskill is complemented by countless opportunities for students to challenge themselves inside and outside the classroom. Campus-wide events, more than 50 student clubs, and residence hall councils are just a few examples of potential leadership positions. Students can also participate in a full array of intramural and intercollegiate athletics on 20 Fighting Tigers sports teams.
  • Uniqueness: SUNY Cobleskill is the only college in the State University of New York system that has a United States Department of Agriculture-certified meat processing facility. SUNY Cobleskill has the only National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences-accredited, degree-granting Histotechnology program in the state of New York.  Credit-bearing internships are incorporated into most bachelor degree programs, enabling students to graduate with genuine experience in their major field of study as they launch their careers or pursue further education.
Please note, students who do not meet SUNY Cobleskill’s English language proficiency level but otherwise meet all the other admissions requirements may receive up to one year acceptance deferral until the required English language proficiency is met. Upon receiving a proof of a new score or a completion of an US-based ESL program within a year, the acceptance process will be finalized without the need to re-apply.
