About Surrey School District 36 (SSD36) - Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School

Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School is a public high school in Surrey, British Columbia. In the heart of downtown Cloverdale, Lord Tweedsmuir works as a team to develop a positive, challenging environment that inspires students to become responsible, life-long learners. Its goals are:

  • To increase the level of social responsibility students demonstrate in the school and the community.
  • To enhance student achievement by a school-wide initiative to improve student literacy levels.


Why Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School

  • Course variety: Lord Tweedsmuir is home to one of the only Film and TV Production courses in Surrey. The school has a dynamic co-operative education, athletic, technology, and fine arts program. A school that prides itself on its welcoming and supportive student population and social responsibility, Lord Tweedsmuir provides unique programs such as Electronics, Computer Programming, Animation, Show Choir, and a Hockey Skills Academy (Grade 10).
  • Extracurricular activities: Lord Tweedsmuir offers diverse opportunities for student growth and leadership through club activities and sports teams such as Football, Rugby, Soccer, Swimming, and Wrestling. Club offerings include Photography, Mindfulness, Ukulele, Student Council, Model UN, and Board Games, to name just a few.

NOTE: While Surrey School District does not ask for IELTS or TOEFL scores, there is a minimum level of language expected for the student to be successful in grades 10 and 11:

  • For students applying to grade 10, the minimum level IELTS score is 3 or TOEFL score is 30-40 which equate to a ‘Low-Developing’ 12.1-13.5 score in Surrey.
  • For students applying to grade 11, the minimum level IELTS score is 4 or TOEFL score is 41-52 which equate to a ‘Developing’ 13.6-15.2 score in Surrey
