The university is one of the oldest higher education providers in the United Kingdom having recently celebrated its 180th year of teaching, starting off as a teacher training college back in 1839. Originally based on one campus in Chester, the university now offers more than 200 single and combined honour’s programmes across a number of specialist sites in Chester, Shrewsbury and Warrington. Courses have an emphasis on practical learning to enhance prospects via industry placements or overseas opportunities, ranging from five-weeks to one-year.

- Location: Located on the outskirts of Nantwich in rural Cheshire, this campus has industry standard teaching facilities but still retains its friendly, supportive atmosphere. Set among 330 hectares of farm, parklands and woodland with its own lake, this stunning campus is the perfect environment for degree students to work, rest and play.
- Facilities: The innovative £8 million National Centre for Horticulture, the Environment and Sustainable Technology is one of the most modern glasshouse training facilities in the UK with its state-of-the-art glasshouse for food crop trials and research. It also houses a fully equipped science laboratory and CAD design studios.
- Animal and Equestrian Centres: The Animal Centre has a licensed zoo, home to over 250 different animal species, and is accredited by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA). As a regional centre for agricultural education, this modern farm has world class facilities and is home to Reaseheath Pedigree High Yielding Holsteins and Youngstock. The £3.5 million Equestrian Centre provides both indoor and outdoor riding arenas for equine science students.
