About University of Gloucestershire - City
The University of Gloucestershire offers a wide range of degrees, courses and apprenticeships at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Typically, students learn theory from industry experts and put their learning into practice in course work, real-world projects, placements and field trips. The school has a 150-year tradition of education dating back to 1847. There are over 100 academic courses to choose from and approximately 10,000 students studying at the three campuses in Gloucestershire.
- Campus Location: University of Gloucestershire's City campus is located right at the heart of its community, creating a vibrant hub of new activity in Kings Square. Shared public access facilities are set to include a new Health, Arts and Wellbeing Centre in partnership with the NHS Integrated Care Board, and a new public library in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council.
- Cutting-edge Facilities: Facilities include simulation spaces, VR labs, an immersive reality room, and an Electroencephalogram (EEG) lab where students can learn about the naturally occurring electric activity taking place in the brain, and monitor how it is affected by various tasks, conditions and other factors. There will also be science and computer labs, art room and multi-purpose spaces for education teaching and group work.
- Food and Drink: City Campus is situated on Kings Square in the heart of the city, with numerous shops, cafés and eateries within easy reach. A 15-minute walk away is Gloucester’s historic docks. Here you’ll find the Quays outlet shopping centre, as well as a range of bars, restaurants and cafés. Within the campus building there are vending machines if you need to grab a snack or drink while on the go.
- Athletics: Students can join one of Gloucestershire's nationally successful teams. They have over 35 sports clubs with more being created every year, and the university has enjoyed 150 years of sporting achievements, with students producing Olympic and Commonwealth success.
