About University of Gloucestershire - Francis Close Hall
The University of Gloucestershire offers a wide range of degrees, courses and apprenticeships at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Typically, students learn theory from industry experts and put their learning into practice in course work, real-world projects, placements and field trips. The school has a 150-year tradition of education dating back to 1847. There are over 100 academic courses to choose from and approximately 10,000 students studying at the three campuses in Gloucestershire. With UofGlouc from the very beginning, Francis Close Hall has seen a legacy grow from strength to strength throughout their nearly 170 years in education. Located in the beautiful South West of England, the Roman city of Gloucester and the regency town of Cheltenham are surrounded by the picturesque Cotswold countryside. With ideal locations giving easy access to the countryside the university creates a great student experience in terms of balancing study with leisure.

- Campus Location: Just 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Cheltenham and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Montpellier and the Bath Road, students will be right on the door step for Cheltenham’s clubs, bars, shops and Cafes.
- Student Life: Explore everything the university has to offer at Freshers' Fayre. This includes BBQs, fancy dress parties and the Freshers' Ball. The Freshers' Fayre is where students can sign up to clubs and societies - and get lots of freebies.
- Clubs: Get involved in anything of interest including snow club, ukulele, the Bee Project, film, comedy, creative writing, paintballing, Afro-Caribbean and Dumbledore's Army. Students can even start up their own.
- Athletics: Students can join one of Gloucestershire's nationally successful teams. They have over 35 sports clubs with more being created every year, and the university has enjoyed 150 years of sporting achievements, with students producing Olympic and Commonwealth success.
