About University of Gloucestershire - Hardwick

The University of Gloucestershire offers a wide range of degrees, courses and apprenticeships at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Typically, students learn theory from industry experts and put their learning into practice in course work, real-world projects, placements and field trips. The school has a 150-year tradition of education dating back to 1847. There are over 100 academic courses to choose from and approximately 10,000 students studying at the three campuses in Gloucestershire.

Hardwick is home to the Centre for Art and Photography which sees students explore their creativity in dedicated studio spaces including a dark room, a processing room, a Mac suite, the dedicated fine art studios and the sculpture yard, all packed with industry-standard equipment. The on-campus Hardwick Gallery also offers a diverse programme of public exhibitions, talks and discussions supported by practicing artists, photographers and creative directors.

Why University of Gloucestershire

  • Campus Location: Just 15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Cheltenham and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Montpellier and the Bath Road, students will be right on the door step for Cheltenham’s clubs, bars, shops and Cafes.
  • Student Life: Explore everything the university has to offer at Freshers' Fayre. This includes BBQs, fancy dress parties and the Freshers' Ball. The Freshers' Fayre is where students can sign up to clubs and societies - and get lots of freebies.
  • Clubs: Get involved in anything of interest including snow club, ukulele, the Bee Project, film, comedy, creative writing, paintballing, Afro-Caribbean and Dumbledore's Army. Students can even start up their own.
  • Athletics: Students can join one of Gloucestershire's nationally successful teams. They have over 35 sports clubs with more being created every year, and the university has enjoyed 150 years of sporting achievements, with students producing Olympic and Commonwealth success.
