Professors are personally engaged and committed to helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.
Why The University of La Verne
- Diversity: La Verne’s approximately 6,000 traditional age and adult learners help make the federally-designated Hispanic-Serving Institution one of the most diverse universities in the nation. Nearly half of the traditional undergraduates are first-generation students – the first in their immediate families to attend college.
- Inclusivity: The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) leads and supports initiatives that promote equity and inclusion, develops and improves collaborative relationships, cultivates a community that encourages and supports a climate that affirms diverse cultures, and advocates for equitable policies, procedures and opportunities for the University of La Verne campus community.
- Lifelong Learning: The university promotes intellectual curiosity and the importance of lifelong learning. It teaches students how to learn, to think critically, to be capable of original research, and to access and integrate information to prepare them for continued personal and professional growth.
- Athletics: At La Verne, approximately 30% of traditional-age undergraduates participate in intercollegiate athletics annually. Additionally, La Verne's athletic history goes back more than 83 years with national titles in baseball, football, women's volleyball, and men's golf.
