About Vanier College

Established in 1970, Vanier is a public English college renowned for excellence in education. This is a truly Canadian student-centered experience based in two campus locations close to downtown Montreal, and both on a metro line. The College has strong student services, including tutoring and academic support services, sports facilities with gym and pool, a recently refurbished library, social activities, and a school nurse and counselling services.

Vanier College is often referred to as the most diverse college campus in Quebec because of their highly diverse student population of over 8000 students.  Vanier College is committed to education for international students and to creating an open climate that fosters learning across borders and cultures. Vanier College's Attestation programs are eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Vanier has two campuses; the main one in the borough of St-Laurent, and the new centrally-located Beaumont location near Acadie metro station, approximately twenty minutes distance apart. Students will take classes on both campuses. Students will find that classrooms and computer labs are well-equipped, support is available in both locations, and that this will contribute to their diverse experience of Montreal.

Why Vanier College

  • Location: Beautiful Montreal is Quebec’s largest city, and has been named the best city in the America’s for students.  It is an affordable, cosmopolitan city with a European flavour where English and French and many other diverse cultures meet together. Montreal is safe and friendly, with great sight-seeing, shopping, restaurants and public transportation. Be prepared for Montreal’s four distinct seasons with fresh spring days, warm summer heat, beautiful autumn colours, and magnificent winter wonderland. Montreal is well situated close to other major urban centres and to the United States. Due to the city’s high level of multiculturalism, students from all over the world can feel at home here.
  • Internships: Throughout their program, attestation students will be taught practical skills that can be directly applied to the job market and to advance their career goals. In their final semester, students will have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills while gaining valuable Canadian working experience as part of an internship. An internship will allow students to network with professionals in the field and gain confidence in their skills as a professional. Students will explore a possible career path and boost their resume when transitioning to full-time work after graduation.
  • Student Support: New international students at Vanier College will have the opportunity to be matched with an International Peer Mentor. A mentor is an experienced Vanier College student who is part of the International (Cont Ed) Peer Mentorship program. The International ACS Mentorship program aims to offer a supportive non-judgemental space for new students to build connections within the Vanier Community and to seek guidance and advice regarding their college success.
