About Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) - Elementary Schools

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board has a tradition of excellence in education that dates back to 1836. The school system is comprised of 25,000 students and 2,500 staff in 5 Secondary Schools (Grades 9-12), 48 Elementary Schools (Kindergarten-Grade 8), and two Adult & Alternative Education Centres.

Waterloo Region, located in Canada’s Technology Triangle and 100 km from Toronto, is a Canadian hub of post-Secondary education with 14 excellent universities and colleges within a 90-minute radius—University of Waterloo, St. Jerome’s University, Wilfrid Laurier University, Conestoga College Institute of Technology, University of Guelph, University of Western Ontario, McMaster University, York University, University of Toronto, Brock University, Fanshawe College, Seneca College, Humber College, and George Brown College.

Elementary schools provide Kindergarten programs (for children aged 4 and 5) and programs for Grades 1 through 8. Elementary school placement for the Waterloo Region International Student Programs is limited to school availability. The Waterloo Catholic District School Board will make every attempt to find a school close to where the student will be living in the Waterloo Region.
