About Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) - Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School

Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School officially opened in 1976 as a junior high school. It is located in South Cambridge, Ontario and is often referred to as a "diamond in the rough", or a "hidden gem" within the WCDSB.  In 1995, it added onto the original structure as it was a growing high school. In the Fall of 2006, another addition was built to accommodate more students. Monsignor Doyle currently has 1062 students enrolled and 112 amazing staff consisting of wonderful teachers, educational assistants, youth care workers, custodians, and secretaries who all play an integral part in making Doyle the gem it is.

Some of our most famous graduates have pursued wonderful vocations as teachers currently at Doyle, as well as a priest-Father John Paul Bolger with the Companions of the Cross.

Doyle is a very special place. The school motto represents what students believe and how they choose to act at school. It flows from the school's rich 35-year heritage as a Catholic learning community. The school community believes that all on a journey back to God, the Creator. Doyle believes that education is a partnership with students, parents, parishes, and the community. First and foremost, it is about learning. As a Catholic school, Doyle does this in the context of faith and in an atmosphere of respect for self, others, property, and the needs of the entire school community. That is why "We walk the path of learning, faith, and respect together".

Doyle prides itself on giving back to the community in which it is a part.  It has staff and students who volunteer at Bridges, the local community shelter as well as at the Ontario Christian Gleaners. The Gleaners supplies soup for areas in the world that suffer from acute hunger and poverty. In fact, this past year, the Gleaners became the "We School in Action" local outreach. Students in grade 12, the social justice committee, and Doyle's "We Day" team worked diligently to bring awareness of this organization and to raise funds to support what they do in the world.

Doyle is a school that strives for excellence in academic achievement, with its outreach to community organizations, as well as through its athletic teams and extracurricular clubs.  Most notable is the badminton team with its many accomplishments over the years, Doyle's rich Arts program and the Mustang wrestling team which has captured many CWOSSA titles over the last 13 years and is a cornerstone of the community.

Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary School shares the mission and vision of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board - to educate and nurture hope in every learner to achieve their full potential to transform God’s world.
