About Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - Law with Criminology (MM19)
Incorporate criminology into the analysis of legal issues and merge legal studies with criminal justice and criminal behavior. Develop employability skills that will prepare for the workplace beyond crime dramas and into the legal realm. Gain a critical understanding of Law and Criminology theories and concepts, explore the history and development of these disciplines, and learn how they complement each other. Acquire a range of legal skills and research methods. Utilize the university’s moot room for debates and mock court appearances. Engage in work placements at legal practices in Scotland to expand knowledge of law and criminal justice systems. Abertay graduates often pursue careers as solicitors and advocates, but with a background in criminology, opportunities in law enforcement, probation services, government, legal journalism, or the third sector are also possible.
