About Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Psychology with Development and Education (C820)
The British Psychological Society accredited degree focuses on child and adolescent development. The knowledge and skills needed to work effectively with children and young people, including those with divergent needs, will be gained. Contemporary and cutting-edge research will be engaged with, shedding light on the thoughts and behaviors of babies, the social and moral decisions made in childhood, and behavior changes in adolescence. Specialist developmental psychologists cover topics such as language, communication, social relationships, and social interaction, learning and education across childhood, changing patterns of childhood experience including interactions with technology, and atypical child development such as neurodivergence, developmental disorders, and mental health issues that typically emerge in childhood. The theoretical and applied aspects of child development will be learned, culminating in a final year supervised project on a topic chosen by the student.
