Program Description

The BA Creative Writing degree at Aberystwyth University provides exciting and diverse opportunities for working in a broad variety of forms and genres. At Aberystwyth, students will develop imaginative and inventive creative skills that will enable them to work confidently and effectively in a wide range of styles, preparing them for a professional career. This degree offers a broad curriculum that cuts across traditional subject boundaries. Over the duration of this course students will explore and experiment with genre, form, language, media, style, and presentation. Upon completion of this degree, students will be able to write with confidence, tailoring work to a broad range of audiences. Students will have a highly developed awareness of issues such as tone, structure, genre and function, and of how to utilise these effectively in their own writing.
