About Bachelor of 2D Animation (109417C)
This 2D Animation courses will bimmerse students in the world of 2D Animation while they develop their skills in storyboarding, color styling, bio-mechanics, movement, rigging, light and color theory, as well as the principles of animation. Learn the history of this fascinating art form, its relation to the moving image and how it continues to expand into many other areas besides motion pictures.
Delivered in purpose built 2D Animation Studio, students will be working side by side like-minded creatives on the latest animation software and hardware, just like in a professional studio.
Students will also attend multiple creative studio lab subjects, so they are continually building their professional-grade portfolio, while receiving mentorship on how it's done by the best in the 2D Animation business. Interact with creatives from multiple fields; experiencing how filmmakers, designers, programmers and 2D Animators all work together.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Integrate professional acumen, adaptation, communication, collaboration and alignment with industry-standard procedures to augment the creation of digital effects, animation or media projects.
- Incorporate broad theoretical, technical and procedural knowledge into the creation of professional quality and commercially viable digital effects, media or animations.
- Analyse complex problems, applying creativity and critical thinking to plan and implement appropriate solutions.
- Investigate, analyze and experiment with current and emerging technologies to enhance and inform the creation of contemporary digital effects, media or animations.
- Construct and execute digital effects, media or animation in line with professional industry standards, demonstrating responsible resource management, defined timelines and clear deliverables.
- Analyse, evaluate and synthesize ethical considerations and cultural awareness in the composition and development of digital effects, media or animation content.
- Research and analyze the symbiosis between digital media, culture and society, producing artefacts that effectively convey meaning, entertain, educate or provide solutions to a target audience.
- Present ideas precisely and persuasively, utilizing audience-relevant modes of communication and appropriate visual supports.
- Utilize self-reflection, professional feedback, networking and personal development strategies to ensure continuous professional growth.
