Program Description

The Pathway of Art and Design targets the skills students will need in University to critically assess information, develop a design portfolio, and express themselves through visual language. Students will be introduced to practical art and design skills including developing skills of visual storytelling, image-making both in traditional and digital media, visual language and communication, formulating an independent creative response to a broad range of subject matter. For a hands-on degree, many classes are going to utilise project and portfolio based strategies to help students begin developing a portfolio and find areas of passion.

Accredited by TIGA, the Computer Games Art degree will allow students to develop art skills relevant to the fast-moving computer games industry. They will gain 3D computer games skills including modelling, texturing and animation, enabling them to create characters, environments and more.

During their studies, students will discover how they can use their visual research, creative experimentation and technical development to forge a career as a computer games artist. Students will learn how to plan their designs by creating concept art before bringing them to life using interactive software such as Unity 3D.
