About 2-Semester Pathway - Foundation Pathway in Engineering, Computing and Technology - Continue to Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Mechanical Engineering

The Foundation Pathway in Engineering, Computing and Technology is Stage 1 of the undergraduate pathway. The transition from high school to university is a big step, perhaps the most important. Staff at ARU College understand this, and will provide students with ongoing guidance, support, and the knowledge and skills they need. It is this partnership between the students and the staff that will make this transition a smooth one.

This is a 2 trimester course. which means that an undergraduate degree will take 4 years to complete. During Stage 1 students will complete a range of modules relevant to their chosen degree, as well as modules concentrating on the skills that are vital for University level education such as Critical Thinking. Stage 1 will be the first stage in the 4 stage process. Meaning that on successful completion of stage 1 students will seamlessly progress to stage 2, which is the first year of a bachelor’s degree.

Learners will have opportunities for practical work and experimentation across a range of elements, including engineering design tasks centered on developing simple robots, in order to introduce the challenges and benefits of realizing theoretical ideas. On the Mechanical Engineering BEng degree course, students will focus on project based-learning. From day one, they'll get involved in hands-on projects with other engineering students, developing their teamwork, management and leadership skills and learning how to analyze and solve problems creatively.
