About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Horticulture - Pre-Landscape Architecture Emphasis

The Academic Accelerator Program is a two-semester program designed specifically for students who are ready to succeed in immersive English-speaking classrooms, but who also want the benefit of English-language and student support that will help them thrive. The program curriculum offers a balance of university-wide and Academic Accelerator Program exclusive courses, with English-language course supplements that equip students with the practical, subject-specific vocabulary and skills that they need to excel in their coursework. Upon completion of the program, students progress into year two of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.

The Department of Horticulture has been recognized nationally for its research programs, its student-centered faculty members and its high rate of employment for graduates. Students will learn how to establish, propagate, harvest and manage fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants. They will also learn the principles of landscape design to create and manage aesthetically pleasing environments.

Landscape architecture is the art and science of design, planning and management of the land and the natural and human-made elements upon it. The pre-landscape architecture degree program will prepare students to pursue a Master of Landscape Architecture degree. The Department of Horticulture works in conjunction with the College of Architecture, Design and Construction for students to further their education and obtain a professional degree in landscape architecture.
