About Extended Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Elementary Education
The Extended Accelerator Program is a three-semester program for students seeking an immersive English-learning experience. The program gives students a firsthand practical and cultural understanding of the Auburn University campus and the Auburn, Alabama, area through its contextual curriculum. Upon completion of the program, students progress into year two of their undergraduate education with a full year’s worth of academic credits.
The Elementary Education program prepares teachers to provide appropriate learning experiences that meet the needs, capabilities, and interests of children in grades K-6. Coursework develops students’ knowledge and skills in research-based language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies content. Students will take courses in educational psychology, curriculum and teaching, evaluation of teaching and learning, and foundations of education.
