About Bachelor of Physical Education - Recreation & Sport Management
The Bachelor of Physical Education Studies (BPES) provides students with in-depth knowledge of the field of Physical Education and the fundamental and specialized skills required by Physical Educators, Exercise Science and Health Professionals, Personal trainers and coaches.
The BPES is a three-year undergraduate degree offering three streams of study:
- Exercise Science and Fitness,
- Recreation and Sport Management,
- Teaching
BPES also offers the opportunity to obtain certification through the following organizations:
- National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
- Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP)
- Manitoba Fitness Council (MFC)
NOTE: International students are welcome to apply to the Bachelor of Education programs provided they meet admission requirements found in the current Undergraduate Course Calendar. Teacher certification is a separate issue. Completion of a B. Ed. degree does not automatically lead to certification in Manitoba; students must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa to be certified to teach in Manitoba.
