About Consecutive Admission - Undergraduate Advanced Certificate - Canadian Culture and Education Studies (CCES) & Undergraduate Advanced Certificate - Leadership in Community-Based Education (LCBE)

Students can apply for Consecutive Admission for both the Canadian Culture in Education Studies (CCES) and Leadership in Community-Based Education (LCBE) certificate programs. Students would enroll first in CCES and then continue with LCBE. One offer of admission is provided. Completing both programs within 2 years will make the student eligible for the 3-year Post-graduate Work Permit.

Canadian Culture and Education Studies

CCES provides a background in educational theory, Canadian educational context, and Canadian culture. Crucial skills required to be successful in Canadian post-secondary programs such as research skills, critical thinking skills, academic communication skills and problem-solving skills, are provided through an educational studies context and an internship experience. Opportunities for students to improve their English language proficiency, increase their familiarity with Canadian cultural practices, and engage in Canadian communities are integrated into the program. Assistance with applying to advanced post-secondary programs is provided. Graduates will be well-prepared to apply to, and succeed in, an academic program at a Canadian postsecondary institution.

Leadership in Community-Based Education

LCBE courses are designed to provide essential knowledge about educational theories and leadership practices and to develop critical communication and collaboration skills, preparing the student to seek employment in community-based education settings or pursue advanced postsecondary studies in Canada. This program also includes internships and an introduction to workplace practices.
