Bachelor of Arts - Communication Studies - Organizational Communication

Communication Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with options in Organizational Communication or Communication and Public Affairs and a minor in Communication Studies. At the graduate level, students can earn a Master of Arts in Communication Studies. Also housed in Communication Studies is the nationally recognized Speech and Debate Team.

Organizations are studied from a communication perspective that is highly inclusive of multiple stakeholders, processes, and/or structures. This approach includes interpersonal relationships, group and teamwork, leadership, cross-functional communication, communication networks and systems, internal/external influences, power, culture and intercultural communication.

Students in this option use their broad understanding of organizations as interactive and dynamic processes, along with their skills and experiences in communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and analysis to pursue a wide spectrum of career opportunities.
