Bachelor of Arts - English - Literature

The English Majors here at Chico State offer students a wide selection of choices depending on what area of focus they wish to study. The Option in Education will give the students the chance to start preparing for their credential, taking classes that are necessary to apply. The Option in Literature lets the student focus on literature and authors. The Option in English Studies will give the student wide-based knowledge in the field of English taking classes from all of its sub-areas.

The Option in English Literature exposes students to a range of courses and analyses focusing on American, British, comparative, and multicultural literatures and cultures. The focus on literary coursework also provides students with in-depth textual analysis of genres and form and a sub-focus on diversity. The student will graduate with a deeper understanding and knowledge of literature throughout the world.
