Information security refers to everything one must do to protect information assets from danger. Such dangers can include but are nor limited to unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, destruction or theft of data or information. It could be one's own personal or an organization’s information assets. And it could also be internally within an organization or in cyberspace on the Internet. This nationally recognized information security concentration provides students the knowledge and technical skills needed to secure, monitor, protect and defend attacks to an individual or organization’s information assets i.e., databases, software, networks, and information systems.
