Integrated Masters - Master of Science (MSci) - Biomedical Science

Biomedical Science operates in a regulated environment and needs well trained professionals with an excellent knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, human disease and genetics, as well as those that possess strong laboratory and computer analytical skills. Biomedical Science graduates are involved in supporting health professionals and driving innovation through research. This innovative course integrates Human Biology, Chemistry and Bioinformatics to develop well-trained graduates possessing employability skills vital for their future careers.

The course provides students with opportunities to test their understanding of the subject informally before they complete the formal assessments that count towards their final mark. Practice assessments are developmental and any grades they receive for them do not count towards their module mark. Major employment areas for Biomedical Science graduates include the NHS and the wider healthcare sector, sales and marketing of healthcare and diagnostic products, diagnostic and clinical laboratories, and research and development for the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, medical devices and laboratory instrumentation industries. Alternatively, students may choose to continue on to postgraduate study through to a PhD.
