About Master of Arts - Sound Design for Film, TV and Interactive Media - Extended

An Extended Master's helps international students get familiar with Master's study through a preparation phase in the summer before the main course starts. This course in Sound Design for Film, TV and Interactive Media offers a stimulating programme with a unique blend of creative practice and skills development alongside as academic study. The University know that people's lives are busy, so they designed the course to be taught through a combination of intensive in-person sessions, online interactive and self-directed learning, as well as group and individual tutorials. This course is unique in that it is delivered alongside multiple degree routes in the broader Creative and Cultural Industries subject areas, which enables students to have a multi and interdisciplinary learning experience, and meet and collaborate with a range of creative professionals, including filmmakers, musicians and composers.

The course is for everyone who wishes to study the fascinating fields of sound recording and sound design for film, TV and interactive media at postgraduate level. It is designed for graduates who have completed a degree in a related field and wish to develop their career prospects; or graduates who have completed a degree in a different discipline but now wish to pursue a career in sound for film, TV and interactive media. Throughout the course students' knowledge and skills will be informally assessed through a variety of learning activities. Students will be encouraged to engage in self-assessment and may be actively involved in peer assessment.
