Pre-Masters Diploma

A Pre-Master's course is an excellent route for international students to take before going on to study a full Master's programme in their specific subject area. This programme offers two routes; one to cater for students wanting to take a Master’s in the area of Business and one for those wishing to undergo a Master’s in the Arts and Humanities. Overall, the programme will equip students for the step up to post-graduate study both in terms of language levels and the other key areas which are vital for success at this level of study in a U.K. university.

The course is for anyone whose first language is not English and who needs to improve their language skills and academic skills before going on to undertake post-graduate study. It is particularly useful for those who have not been able to attain the IELTS band to go directly into post-graduate study as well as those who feel they need to have some prior preparation (for whatever reason) before starting a full Masters programme. Throughout the course students' knowledge and skills will be informally assessed through a variety of learning activities. Students will be encouraged to engage in self-assessment and may be actively involved in peer assessment. Formally, the course is assessed solely through coursework, including portfolio work, reports, essays and presentations.
