Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering - Civil and Environmental Engineering (H224) (Sandwich Year)

This accredited course offers individuals the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to become a proficient civil and environmental engineer. Through engaging in laboratory sessions, field trips, individual projects, and design classes, students will not only reinforce the concepts taught in lectures and tutorials but also enhance their practical abilities in surveying and design.

Students will be given the chance to select from a variety of genuine, real-world engineering problems and industry-focused scenarios to work on independently or in collaboration with fellow student engineers from different disciplines. This group work experience mirrors the dynamics of an engineering team and aids in the development of essential professional skills such as effective teamwork and communication. Additionally, our accessible makerspace serves as a hub for students to engage in design, creation, and collaboration.

Furthermore, students will have the valuable opportunity to undertake a paid placement in a location of their choice, which may extend beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. This placement serves as an excellent means of gaining exposure to a professional working environment and applying the acquired skills in practice. Past students have successfully completed placements at renowned organizations such as Arup, Mott MacDonald, and WSP.

The MEng program offers a platform for individuals to expand and strengthen their knowledge in the field of civil engineering. Students will benefit from advanced learning in design and management, as well as engage in a multidisciplinary engineering design project, thereby further enhancing their expertise in the field.
